CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects is pleased to announce a call for entries for the 2011 Professional and Student Awards Program. Building upon our partnership with Great Lakes Publishing and Ohio Magazine (www.ohiomagazine.com) from the 2010 Awards Program, this year's Award Recipients will also receive coverage in the 'Green' April 2012 edition of Ohio Magazine as part of Landscape Architecture month 2012. Ohio Magazine is carried on newsstands throughout the State of Ohio, with an online version also available.

The OCASLA Awards Program features six juried categories:

The awards program is juried by a diverse group of professionals and local practitioners who will convene in early September to review submittals and select the winners. The announcement of winners will be made at the 3rd Annual OCASLA Gala & Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 4, 2011 in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State University's Urban Arts Space. Attended by over 100 professionals and guests last year, this year's gala promises to be an event not to miss!

ENTRY INFORMATION
Deadline:
• Monday, August 15th @ 5:00pm | Entry Fee and Number Assignment
• Thursday, August 25th @ 5:00pm | Submittal Form and CD ROM
• Items must be received by deadline date, no exceptions
• Any missing information results in disqualification

Required Entry Fee Payment:
• Online Credit Card Payment Accepted Only, see deadline above
• Visa and Mastercard Accepted, see deadline above
• Log on to www.ocasla.com to submit payment and to receive your submittal number
• Individual payment required for each entry submittal
Required Entry Form Process:
• Project and Entrant Information is not required at time of Entry Fee Payment
• Entry Submittal form submitted with CD ROM by mail, answer all questions per each entry
ENTRY CD ROM SUBMITTAL
Required CD ROM Checklist:
• One labeled CD ROM per entry (Project Title - Entry Category, printed on CD ROM)
• Descriptive Data Summary Form (Completed and Saved in Microsoft Word format, download at www.ocasla.com)
• Concealed Identity Form (Completed and Saved in Microsoft Word format, download at www.ocasla.com)
• Plant List Form, Optional (Completed and Saved in Microsoft Word format, download at www.ocasla.com)
• A maximum of (15) digital .JPG drawings/photographs shall be submitted on the CD ROM for juror review:
-The image files shall be numbered sequentially using your assigned Entry Number. For example, if your assigned Entry Number is 100, your image files should be labeled as 100.01.jpg to 100.15.jpg.
-To insure proper presentation sequencing, image files should be saved in a separate folder on the CD ROM titled 'Project Title - Images'
-Only .JPG files will be accepted, dimensions should be 3300 pixels x 2550 pixels, at 300 pixels per inch. (8.5"x11")
-Image captions should be properly labeled on the image to correlate with image file names and no more that 40 words per image. (See templates available for your use, download at www.ocasla.com)
• One (1) 24”x 36” .PDF Display Graphic saved in high resolution 200 ppi (pixels per inch) format. In the event of a winning entry, the graphic will be printed and displayed at the Awards Gala. To recognize each project submission, all display graphics will be posted on the OCASLA website after the Awards Gala. The illustrative material (drawings & photographs) should be a way to explain the project to the public. Graphic scales and north arrows are recommended. The display may also include brief written statements. Include 'Project Identification Label' in the bottom right-hand corner of the graphic display design. (Please save the graphic as follows: 'YourProjectName_Display.pdf')
• **(Communications & Research Category Entrants Only) Unlike the other categories, submissions in the Communications & Research Category may include alternate items. If submitting a booklet or video, a copy of the booklet or video should be included with the entry submission. To the extent possible, without editing or defacing the communications item, please conceal the identity of the author, publisher, etc., on the item.

• Text documents should be saved in Microsoft Word format. Templates are available for download at: www.ocasla.com
• The use of powerpoint presentations (unless they are part of the Communications & Research Category) will result in disqualification.
• Entrants are responsible for clearing photographs with photographers for publication and reproduction by OCASLA. OCASLA will provide proper photography credit when using photos, but will not assume responsibility for any copyrights or photography fees.
